QA1600 —
Fast Deployment. Serious First Attack.

Modular slip-on design for rapid integration into your existing pickup truck.

Intelli-Spray has a long-standing history with on-the-ground firefighters and departments alike — designing and supplying innovative fire equipment for over 20 years. The QA1600 is the result of that experience: a high-capacity, modular firefighting unit that integrates easily into a wide range of firefighting vehicles via a certified mounting kit.

Built on a 1600 mm (63 in) standard aluminum frame, acid-washed or powder-coated with forklift pockets, the QA1600 provides a ready-to-deploy solution for wildfire suppression, structure and asset protection, and mop-up operations. Available in low-pressure or high-pressure pump configurations — choose the output that matches your firefighting application.

  • 400L / 106 gal UV-stabilised poly tank with baffle balls
  • Honda GX160 or GX270 engine — high or low pressure pump choice
  • Quik Corp RFR-3 self-guided fire hose reel — 50 m / 164 ft fire-rated Gorilla hose
  • Solid EF500 foam dispenser included
  • Certified mounting kit — forklift pockets for easy loading and handling

Built for the Front Line — Ready in Minutes

Every component of the QA1600 is selected for reliability under fireground conditions — from the Honda engine to the fire-rated Gorilla hose and Solid EF foam dispenser.

Honda GX160 or GX270 Engine

Engine choice is linked to pump configuration — GX160 for the low-pressure Davey impeller pump, GX270 for the high-pressure Bertolini diaphragm pump. Both are proven Honda OHV gasoline engines built for continuous field operation.

Low or High Pressure Pump

Choose to suit your firefighting application. The low-pressure Davey single impeller delivers 100 L/min (26.4 gal/min) at 90 PSI — ideal for high-volume suppression. The high-pressure Bertolini PA530 delivers 40 L/min (10.6 gal/min) at 400 PSI — for long-range targeted attack.

RFR-3 Self-Guided Hose Reel

Quik Corp RFR-3 self-guided hose reel with up to 50 m (164 ft) of fire-rated Gorilla hose — available in manual, powered, or remote-controlled retractable configurations. QCFE fire nozzle included for controlled suppression.

Heavy-Duty Aluminum Frame

Standard 1600 mm (63 in) aluminum frame — acid-washed or powder-coated finish — with forklift pockets for easy loading and unloading between vehicles. Certified mounting kit included for secure tray installation.

Solid EF500 Foam Dispenser

Included with the QA1600 — converts water flow to a foam wetting agent stream for significantly improved fire suppression effectiveness versus water alone. No moving parts, works inline with the existing water supply.

400L Baffled Tank & Suction Hose

UV-stabilised 400L (106 gal) poly tank with internal baffle balls to reduce water surge on uneven terrain. Includes a 6.6 m × 38 mm (21.7 ft × 1.5 in) suction hose with floating filter for drafting from dams or water sources.

Frequently Asked Questions

QA1600 FAQs

What is the difference between the low-pressure and high-pressure pump options?+-
The low-pressure option uses a Honda GX160 engine paired with a Davey single impeller pump — delivering 100 L/min (26.4 gal/min) at 90 PSI. This high-volume, lower-pressure output is ideal for rapid suppression of large fire fronts and flooding areas with water quickly. The high-pressure option uses a Honda GX270 engine paired with a Bertolini PA530 triple diaphragm pump — delivering 40 L/min (10.6 gal/min) at 400 PSI. This higher pressure is suited to targeted long-range fire attack, elevated delivery, and foam penetration into dense fuel loads.
What vehicle is required to mount the QA1600?+-
The QA1600 is a slip-on unit designed for pickup truck trays. The unit is 1600 mm (63 in) long and 1200 mm (47.2 in) wide, with a dry weight of 180 kg (397 lb). Loaded with a full 400L (106 gal) of water, the total weight increases to approximately 580 kg (1,280 lb). Ensure your truck tray and payload capacity can accommodate this load. The certified mounting kit and forklift pockets make loading and securing straightforward. Contact your nearest distributor for vehicle compatibility advice.
How long does 400L (106 gal) last when fighting fire?+-
At high-flow firefighting rates, 400L (106 gal) provides approximately 4–6 minutes of sustained flow at full output — suited to first-attack knockdown of initial fire spread or structure protection. Using the high-pressure option at lower flow rates extends run time. Having a refill source nearby (dam, water tank, creek) is critical for sustained firefighting operations. The QA1600 includes a suction hose with floating filter for drafting from open water sources.
Does the QA1600 include the Solid EF foam dispenser?+-
Yes — the Solid EF500 foam dispenser is included with the QA1600. The Solid EF system requires no moving parts and converts the water stream into a foam wetting agent, significantly improving fire suppression effectiveness compared to water alone. This is particularly valuable in dry grass and leaf litter fuel conditions common in North American wildfire environments.
Can the hose reel be remote-controlled?+-
Yes. The Quik Corp RFR-3 self-guided hose reel on the QA1600 is available in manual, powered, or remote-controlled retractable configurations. The remote-controlled option allows hose retrieval from a distance — reducing operator exposure during withdrawal from a fire front. Specify your preferred reel configuration when enquiring.
