The GPI Solar Powered Travelling Irrigator is the ultimate hands-free solution for creating and maintaining healthy pastures, orchards, and market gardens. Unlike traditional irrigators that rely on pressure from a pump and an operator watching over them, the GPI's 12V or 24V electric drive motor delivers consistent, low-pressure hose rewind without pressure loss or water wastage.

An onboard 35Ah AGM battery — charged by solar panels — powers the motor for up to 8 hours without needing recharge, making it perfect for day and overnight operation. Smart timer technology and automatic shut-off at the end of the rewind cycle means you can set it and leave it — the GPI does the work while you get on with your day.

How is the GPI powered?+-
The GPI is 100% electric and solar-powered — the first travelling irrigator of its kind. An onboard solar panel charges a 35 Ah AGM battery (GPI-100: 1 × 35 Ah / 20 W panel; GPI-150: 2 × 35 Ah / 2 × 20 W panels) which powers the 12V or 24V electric drive motor. No petrol, no generator, and no grid connection required — making it ideal for remote paddocks and off-grid properties.
What is the difference between the GPI-100 and GPI-150?+-
The GPI-100 uses a 12V motor, single 35 Ah battery, and carries 100 m (328 ft) of 32 mm blue-line hose — suited to smaller paddocks, market gardens, and orchards. The GPI-150 uses a 24V motor, dual 35 Ah batteries, and carries 150 m (492 ft) of 40 mm hose, with a significantly higher flow rate (49–127 L/min vs 18–76 L/min) — better for larger irrigation areas and higher water demand. Both share the same retraction time range (1.5–8 hours) and automatic shut-off.
How long does the battery last on a single charge?+-
The onboard AGM battery powers the irrigator's drive motor for up to 8 hours at the slowest rewind setting — the recommended setting for most irrigation applications. The fastest rewind time is 1.5 hours. The solar panels recharge the battery continuously during daylight hours, making the GPI capable of day and overnight operation without manual recharging.
Does the GPI shut off automatically?+-
Yes. The GPI features automatic shut-off at the end of the rewind cycle — the motor stops and the irrigation run completes without any operator input required. You can also choose between automatic or manual timer settings to control exactly how long each irrigation run takes, giving you precise control over water application volume.
What water sources can the GPI draw from?+-
The GPI connects via a 1½" male cam-lock fitting at the inlet and operates on 20–100 PSI supply pressure. It can draw from dams, ponds, tanks, and other open water sources with a suitable supply pump or pressurised supply. It is not designed for direct connection to very low-pressure gravity-fed systems without a booster pump. Contact your nearest distributor to discuss your specific water source and supply setup.
